Graham Badman presents review on Home Education

Graham Badman has today presented the review which he was commissioned to undertake by the government into Home Education.

The review says that parents who home educate their children should have to register annually on a scheme administered by local councils. The Secretary of State said that this would bring England into line with other European Countries. The review also says that local authorities should have the right to visit any child taught at home.

The Secretary of State said that as a result of the review he would be asking local authorities to “provide easier access to extra support for those home educated children who need it – particularly the relatively high proportion of home educated children who have special educational needs and others who need or want access services that would otherwise be provided through their school.”
