Introduction

Dorit was until recently Chief Executive of Parentline Plus, which she formed from a series of mergers in 1999, to become the largest independent provider of parenting support services.
Dorit has long experience of parenting education and also training professionals in family support. She has worked in Adult and Community Education and has worked at the Open University to lead a National Curriculum development project on Family Life Education. She was Assistant Director at the Community Education Development Centre, where she influenced policy which led to the development of national training programmes in family education and in child protection for teachers. Moving on to a Health Authority, she worked with GP’s and other agencies to develop locality based commissioning services, and was the lead officer for the multi – agency strategy for adults with disabilities, as well as being the lead officer for children.
