Introduction
Paul Roberts is Chair of the trustees for Creativity, Culture and Education. (CCE) CCE is the national organisation created to generate transformational cultural and creative programmes for children and young people across England. It is responsible for Creative partnerships and managed the Find Your Talent pathfinder programme. Paul was advisor to Ministers in DCMS and DCSF from 2006 to 2010
He is a committee member of the Public Services Innovation Laboratory hosted by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, and a Director/Trustee of Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Nottingham Contemporary Art Gallery and Greenwood Academy Trust.
Previously Paul was Managing Director at the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA), anorganisation supporting leadership, improvement and innovation in local government, developing good practice through its networks, on-line communities of practice and web resources, and through the support and challenge provided by councillor and office peers.
After graduating in Philosophy and Mathematics at the University of Bristol, Paul took postgraduate qualifications in Education at Bristol and at the Cambridge Institute of Education. He spent 13 years teaching before becoming an inspector of schools, and subsequently Director of Education in two multi-ethnic and urban locations.
His first Directorship was in 1997, for the new unitary council in Nottingham City where he established the Education service at local government reorganisation. He then joined Capita Strategic Education Services in 2001 and undertook the Director of Education role in the London Borough of Haringey, leading the successful Strategic Management Partnership established by the Secretary of State between Haringey Council and Capita. He was appointed a Director of Capita Strategic Education Services. From Capita he joined the IDeA in 2004.
Paul has extensive experience speaking at and chairing/leading seminars nationally and internationally.
