Introduction
Sir Alan began his teaching career in 1971 in Leeds. Subsequently he taught in Northamptonshire and Hertfordshire before moving to Redbridge. Here Sir Alan was Head teacher of Seven Kings High School for 23 years. The school is now recognised as one of the leading schools in the country, judged by Ofsted to be outstanding in every category and sub category.
Sir Alan’s particular expertise and interest is in Behaviour and Discipline – indeed he has quoted there are “101 ways to encourage discipline”. Sometimes referred to as the Government’s “behaviour tsar”, Sir Alan is in high demand to speak at a range of high profile national conferences.
